Often called “Philanthropic Therapists” by their clients, AWA focuses on finding and addressing our clients’ pain points: how to do more, understand more, and connect more. We guide our partners through issues, planning, geography and social trends, helping them to gain a richer understanding of the underlying issues and people they are trying to help, and what sort of impact or legacy they want to leave behind. We keep clients connected to and informed about the communities they are serving currently and those that they hope to grow into.
However, a place that we have been able to also uniquely show value is helping to build infrastructure and grow organizations. We believe that capacity building is a critical investment and the only way to truly increase impact. We are very hands on throughout these key growth periods and frequently stay on with our clients as thought partners and coaches.
It just takes time and commitment. And, sometimes, a therapist.
When I started my practice, I knew I wanted to create something with heart and purpose. I wanted to touch, connect, create, and build. I wanted to take on projects that led to change and work that supported communities I care about.
Moving into our 10th year of impact we believe firmly that purpose has to harmonize with function; that an organization needs to be built on a solid platform in order to accomplish its goals. With no shortage of good intentions and ideas, leaders want to ensure impact. It's my job to help them get there.
